So I decide that I was going to make pork fried steak.... Well I ran into a slight problem.... NO EGGS!!!! So I looked in the fridge to see what I could use instead of eggs. And well there was my yummy chobani yogurt. So I decided to try something no one would ever think of. So here is my new DELICIOUS recipe.
Pork Fried Steak
4 pork cube steaks ( or more)
1 cup flour
1 cup bread crumbs (I make my own)
1/2 cup chobani nonfat plain yogurt
1/4 cup chicken or beef stock
First put flour in bowl and bread crumbs in bowl. Next put chobani yogurt in bowl and whisk your broth in slowly. Then dip your steak in flour, next chobani mixture, and then bread crumbs. Last fry it in 350 degree oil. (make sure oil is hot) Finally time to eat it and enjoy.
I put mine with spaghetti and sauce, though my husband likes his on sandwiches. You can try it with different things. Let me know if you try this one out.
I think it is much better than egg wash!
Very interesting! I dont think that I would have thought of that...and I DO like to experiment in the kitchen! Clever. I will def try this. -Brandi Dawn

Sounds good if you eat meat - which I don't....
ReplyDeleteVera, You can use it for your veggies too. I am making fried eggplant using it tonight.
DeleteI would not even have thought of that. And I would also love to try it on eggplant as suggested above. Great idea! Way to use your noodle!
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting way to use yogurt- though plain greek yogurt does remind me of sour cream! :D Looks so good!
